Theo phóng viên Thông tấn xã Việt Nam tại Jakarta, Bộ trưởng Tài chính Indonesia Purbaya Yudi Sadeva cho biết trong bài phát biểu trước quốc hội rằng PFII sẽ giúp thu hút các quỹ quốc tế và danh mục đầu tư dài hạn, từ đó mở rộng quy mô nền kinh tế và giúp Indonesia đạt tốc độ tăng trưởng cao hơn. Ông cho rằng, với việc mở rộng quy mô kinh tế, Indonesia sẽ có thêm nguồn lực để phục vụ phát triển lâu dài trên toàn quốc.

Dự luật đã được Quốc hội thông qua với sự đồng thuận tuyệt đối và quy định khuôn khổ thể chế của trung tâm tài chính mới cũng như một số ưu đãi về thuế nhằm nâng cao sức hấp dẫn của trung tâm này đối với các nhà đầu tư quốc tế. Nghị sĩ Mohammad Hekar cho biết dự luật cũng quy định việc thành lập tổ chức trọng tài và các tòa án chuyên trách để xét xử và giải quyết các tranh chấp phát sinh trong phạm vi hoạt động của trung tâm tài chính.
