Theo ban tổ chức, Đại hội thể thao năm 2026 dự kiến sẽ thu hút khoảng 17.000 vận động viên và khách mời, bao gồm các vận động viên chuyên nghiệp, vận động viên quần chúng, đại diện trong và ngoài nước. So với lần đầu, chuỗi sự kiện này đã mở rộng về quy mô và nội dung, với nhiều cuộc thi hơn. Khác với lần đầu tiên được tổ chức riêng cho từng sự kiện, sự kiện năm nay sẽ áp dụng mô hình chuỗi liên kết, kết hợp thi đấu thể thao, giao lưu cộng đồng và hoạt động trải nghiệm nhằm thúc đẩy rèn luyện thể chất và tăng cường sự gắn kết cộng đồng. Lễ khai mạc Đại hội thể thao 2026 dự kiến sẽ được tổ chức vào ngày 1/8 với khoảng 10.000 người tham gia và sẽ trở thành mắt xích trung tâm của toàn bộ sự kiện.

Ông Trần Đức Fen, Phó Chủ tịch Hiệp hội Thể thao Công an nhân dân Việt Nam, cho biết, trong bối cảnh ngày càng chú trọng đến các hoạt động trải nghiệm ngoài trời, thể thao kết hợp du lịch, chuỗi hoạt động kéo dài nhiều ngày như Đại hội thể thao được coi là tín hiệu cho thấy xu hướng kết hợp thể thao, cộng đồng và du lịch đang mở rộng tại Việt Nam. Sự kiện này không chỉ có ý nghĩa thi đấu thể thao mà còn nhằm mục đích tăng cường rèn luyện thể chất, nâng cao sức khỏe, đời sống tinh thần của cán bộ, chiến sĩ Công an nhân dân và nhân dân.
