Đại sứ Ignacio cho biết Philippines sẽ tập trung vào 3 hướng ưu tiên trong nhiệm kỳ Chủ tịch luân phiên ASEAN 2026, gồm “các trụ cột hòa bình và an ninh”, “hành lang thịnh vượng” và “trao quyền cho người dân”. Ông cho rằng các định hướng ưu tiên này phù hợp với ba trụ cột an ninh chính trị, kinh tế, văn hóa và xã hội của ASEAN và nhằm thúc đẩy hội nhập kinh tế, hỗ trợ chuyển đổi kỹ thuật số của các doanh nghiệp vừa và nhỏ, tăng cường khả năng chống chịu của chuỗi cung ứng, đảm bảo an ninh năng lượng, an ninh lương thực trong bối cảnh tình hình địa chính trị diễn biến phức tạp.
