Theo phóng viên Thông tấn xã Việt Nam tại Viêng Chăn, nhân kỷ niệm 49 năm ký Hiệp ước Hữu nghị và Hợp tác Lào-Việt Nam, Thông tấn xã Quốc gia Lào Pathet Lào đã đăng bài viết nhìn lại sự hình thành và phát triển của mối quan hệ đặc biệt giữa Việt Nam và Lào, đồng thời nhấn mạnh mối quan hệ hữu nghị vĩ đại, đoàn kết đặc biệt, hợp tác toàn diện và liên kết chiến lược giữa hai Đảng, hai nước và nhân dân hai nước sẽ tiếp tục phát triển theo chiều sâu.

Mối quan hệ khăng khít giữa Việt Nam và Lào được tôi luyện và thử thách trong thời kỳ đấu tranh cách mạng dưới sự lãnh đạo của Đảng Cộng sản Đông Dương - sau này là Đảng Nhân dân Cách mạng Lào và Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam. Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh vĩ đại, Chủ tịch kính yêu Kessan Phongvihane và Chủ tịch Souphanouvong là những người đặt nền móng cho mối quan hệ đặc biệt này, biến nó thành tài sản vô giá đối với hai dân tộc.
从十九世纪末到二十世纪初，法国殖民者入侵了印度支那三国。老挝和越南两国人民在印度支那共产党的领导下，同心协力、坚强勇敢地奋起反抗。1945年8月，越南成功进行了八月革命，并于1945年9月宣布独立。此后不久，1945年10月12日，老挝人民也宣布独立并成立了老挝伊沙拉政府。1946年，当法国殖民者卷土重来时，老越两国军民同仇敌忾，并肩战斗，共同抗击共同的敌人。到1951年，印度支那共产党第二次全国代表大会通过了决议，让老挝和柬埔寨各自成立独立的政党，以直接领导各自国家的革命事业。
Từ cuối thế kỷ XIX đến đầu thế kỷ XX, thực dân Pháp xâm chiếm ba nước Đông Dương. Dưới sự lãnh đạo của Đảng Cộng sản Đông Dương, nhân dân Lào và Việt Nam đã đứng lên đoàn kết, sức mạnh và lòng dũng cảm. Tháng 8 năm 1945, Việt Nam thực hiện thành công Cách mạng tháng Tám và tuyên bố độc lập vào tháng 9 năm 1945. Ngay sau đó, ngày 12 tháng 10 năm 1945, nhân dân Lào cũng tuyên bố độc lập và thành lập Chính phủ Lào Ishara. Năm 1946, khi thực dân Pháp quay trở lại, quân và dân hai nước Lào và Việt Nam có chung mối hận thù, sát cánh cùng nhau sát cánh chiến đấu chống kẻ thù chung. Đến năm 1951, Đại hội toàn quốc lần thứ II của Đảng Cộng sản Đông Dương đã thông qua nghị quyết cho phép Lào và Campuchia thành lập các đảng chính trị độc lập để trực tiếp lãnh đạo sự nghiệp cách mạng của nước mình.
1954年，老方主动在全国各地开辟多个战场，以消耗敌军力量、割裂其支援，为越军进攻奠边府集团据点群创造了重要前提和战略配合。奠边府大捷使殖民者遭到重创，被迫签署《日内瓦协定》，承认印度支那三国的独立、主权和领土完整。
Năm 1954, Lào chủ động mở nhiều chiến trường trên khắp cả nước nhằm tiêu hao sức mạnh và chia cắt viện trợ của địch, tạo điều kiện và phối hợp chiến lược quan trọng cho quân đội Việt Nam tấn công các cứ điểm của Tập đoàn Điện Biên Phủ. Chiến thắng Điện Biên Phủ đã giáng một đòn nặng nề vào thực dân và buộc họ phải ký Hiệp định Genève, công nhận độc lập, chủ quyền và toàn vẹn lãnh thổ của ba nước Đông Dương.

1960年，胡志明主席与凯山·丰威汉主席举行了历史性会晤，并强调“老越关系是特殊团结关系”，继承了两国长久以来的团结、紧密传统。

1962年，老挝三方联合政府成立，成为老越两国正式、合法建立国家关系水平的里程碑。在1967年至1973年期间，老越两国军民在战斗联盟中并肩作战，共同抗击外来帝国主义的“特种战争”和“增强型特种战争”及其走狗势力。

1973年1月，新殖民主义侵略者及其走狗势力被迫接受谈判并签署《巴黎协定》，以结束战争、恢复印度支那和平。在1975年4月30日南方解放和1975年12月2日老挝人民民主共和国成立之后，老越关系正式进入了一个新时代——全面合作的时代。
Tháng 1 năm 1973, bọn xâm lược thuộc địa mới và các thế lực tay sai của chúng buộc phải chấp nhận đàm phán, ký Hiệp định Paris chấm dứt chiến tranh, lập lại hòa bình ở Đông Dương. Sau ngày giải phóng miền Nam ngày 30/4/1975 và thành lập nước Cộng hòa Dân chủ Nhân dân Lào ngày 2/12/1975, quan hệ Lào - Việt Nam chính thức bước vào kỷ nguyên mới - kỷ nguyên hợp tác toàn diện.
1975年4月30日，越南南方完全解放，国家实现统一。同时，老挝人民于1975年8月23日在全国举行了夺取政权的起义，并于1975年12月2日正式宣布成立老挝人民民主共和国。
Ngày 30/4/1975, miền Nam Việt Nam hoàn toàn giải phóng, đất nước thống nhất. Đồng thời, nhân dân Lào đã tổ chức tổng khởi nghĩa toàn quốc giành chính quyền vào ngày 23/8/1975, chính thức tuyên bố thành lập nước Cộng hòa Dân chủ Nhân dân Lào vào ngày 2/12/1975.
